Inverleigh real estate at Berthon Park offers a blend of rural lifestyle with modern living. The picturesque town features rugged rural landscapes and a vibrant ecosystem of rich flora and fauna. Its nature walks are suited to both bird watchers and fitness enthusiasts alike (including options for your furry friend). Berthon Park is also an accessible 5km walk from the town centre.

Short

The Leigh River Trail is a 3km (one-way) track that starts at the local campground. It’s a meandering walk where you can take in the riverbank sights, such as the old River Red Gums and historic Federation Bridge. Be sure to keep your eye out for local Platypus!

Alternatively, the River Track snakes along the Barwon River and ends at the local Inverleigh Pub. If you’re keen to work off lunch, the track joins the Leigh River Trail a little further North.

Medium (Around 1 hour)

The Inverleigh Pioneer Heritage Walk is a stunning, meandering path through the town’s many historic buildings and sites. To begin, head to the Corner of Cambridge Street and Hamilton Highway.

Kangaroo Track is another walk most suited to those keen to explore the town’s natural environment. It’s a peaceful 4km loop with sandy paths juxtaposed against grassy woodland. Keep your eye out for the various wildlife that frequents the area! Start from Common Road on the Old Teasdale Track.

Long (Over 1 hour)

For those keen for a serious adventure, head off on the Inverleigh Flora Reserve Loop. Approximately 10km on a moderate track, the walk is a favourite for bird watchers with over 100 species of birds frequenting the area. Be sure to also look down and all around to spot Kangaroos, Echidnas and Koalas in addition to other small marsupials. For those seeking to explore the diverse vegetation within the town, several species of rare orchids bloom in full colour along the path. The track is also great for mountain biking or trail running. Note that no amenities are available.

Dog-friendly

The majority of the walks noted are dog-friendly; however, dogs must be kept on a leash. Always be sure to pick up after your dog, take water with you, and carry waste bags.

For those pooches keen to burn off some serious energy, Navy’s Playground is a private off-leash dog park where dogs can play and explore in a secure, fenced location across 1.25 hectares of land. Bookings are essential.

If you’re keen to make the move to a more peaceful lifestyle, there’s land for sale now at Berthon Park.
